Students will live on campus, take two classes from UGA faculty, and will get six hours of UGA credit. As part of the program, students will be expected to engage in service learning in the nearby community of Kayamandi. In addition, there will be local tours every weekend to world-famous sites including Table Mountain, Robben Island, and Cape Point. The program will conclude with a five-day trip up the Garden Route, which includes a two-day safari in a game reserve. If you would like to know more about service learning in Kayamandi, here are three short reaction papers from students who participated in the 2009 program. Please contact the Program Directors Drs Markus Crepaz and William Finlay for further information.
The 2010 Globis Summer Study Abroad Program in Stellenbosch will take place May 10 to June 9. Enrollment is limited to 20 students. Application deadline: February 1, 2010 |
