Those are 350- to 500-pound concrete balls that UGA's Foundation Fellows worked on during spring break as part of an artificial reef-building project on Providenciales Island in the Caribbean. The concrete balls, which had to be pushed to the water's edge and then floated via large balloons out to the reef site, will help restore marine life where natural reefs have been damaged or where none existed.
