Officers and crew members from the USS Carl Vinson aircraft carrier paid a visit to UGA and the Carl Vinson Institute of Government to learn more about the institute and the career of Vinson, who represented Georgia for more than 50 years in the U.S. House of Representatives. In return, Vinson Institute faculty and staff learned about the day-to-day operations on the 97,000-ton ship. Members of the USS Carl Vinson color guard also presented the flags at the start of the UGA-Troy State homecoming football game.

Pictured left to right are Petty Officer First Class Robert Vegara, Petty Officer Second Class William Hunter, Petty Officer Second Class Christopher Tyner, and Airman Kimberly Romero.
