Holt Webb (BFA ’92) rolled through town in January in his 32-foot recreational vehicle powered by biodiesel fuel and vegetable oil. A photographer, Holt is on a cross-country tour of national icons that are in danger of disappearing over the next few decades. His work will appear in a book and a documentary. Among his photos so far are the Dungeness Estate on Cumberland Island; a covered bridge in Fall Creek, Ore.; the Fullerton Fox Theater in Fullerton, Calif.; the Bonneville Dam in Bonneville, Ore.; and the Okefenokee Swamp, which is pictured on the side of his RV. You can follow Webb in his travels and read his blog at www.vanishingamerica.net.
