The beloved mascot turns 50 this year. UGA adopted the first Bulldog, a pet of Sonny (BBA ’56, JD ’57) and Cecilia Seiler, as the official school mascot in 1956. Since then, five white English bulldogs descended from Uga I have walked the sidelines during games and served as a university ambassador during special events. Uga V (1990-1999) was perhaps the most famous, having appeared in the movie “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil” and on the cover of Sports Illustrated.
