Two for the show

UGA alums Tituss Burgess (AB ’01) (above) and Shuler Hensley (M ’89) (right) are starring in Broadway musicals. Burgess appears as Sebastian (that’s the crab) in Disney’s “The Little Mermaid,” which opened in January. He debuted on Broadway in 2005’s Beach Boys musical “Good Vibrations” and in 2006 appeared in “Jersey Boys,” the musical biography of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. That same year he released “Here’s to You,” an album of R&B songs. Hensley plays The Monster in Mel Brooks’ “Young*Frankenstein.” This is his second time as the character, having played him previously in the movie “Van Helsing.”
Shuler Hensley appears as The Monster on NBA’s “Today” show.

Hensley won a 2002 Tony Award for his portrayal of Jud in “Oklahoma.” He has appeared in numerous TV and film roles and can be seen playing a private investigator on the trail of Jed Clampett in Geico’s commercial spoof of “True Hollywood Stories.”
