UGA students joined their peers around the country in late January for Focus the Nation, a national teach-in on global warming solutions. The event began with a Web cast of “The 2% Solution” and included a lecture by Ecology of a Cracker Childhood author Janisse Ray and a charter lecture by National Geographic Executive Editor Dennis Dimick. The UGA community had a chance to vote on their top five global climate change solutions. The top five solutions nationally were to be presented to Congress. Over 1,000 universities and colleges in 50 states were expected to participate in the event.
