As the UGA Alumni Association President, I have encouraged all University of Georgia alums to proudly wear red and black. I have asked you to display outward signs of pride for UGA, such as bumper stickers and car flags. I also have asked you to be a loyal supporter of this school with your time and money. The overall theme is to show the world that Im Georgia.
Many of you have just graduated and are getting this magazine for the first time, which means you are joining nearly 250,000 other alums of this storied institution. The phrase Im Georgia applies to you in ways that will have a lifelong impact. Think of the thousands who have come before you and walked through the Arch or rung the Chapel bell.
There is a responsibility associated with being a graduate of the University of Georgia, such as lending your time and talents. Become involved with your UGA Alumni Association; the opportunities for involvement are endless. Get involved with your school or college; participate in a seminar or serve on a board. Your life will be enriched as will those on campus with whom you come in contact.
The University of Georgia means many different things to many different people. But one theme we can weave throughout is Im Georgia. There is not a better way to start than by joining the UGA Alumni Association. The benefits are great but the commitment is small. Please visit our web site at www.alumni.uga.edu/alumni for information about the benefits of becoming a member.
