The Mission of the Greek Life Office is to provide educational initiatives designed to challenge, support, and recognize individuals and groups associated with Greek organizations through leadership training, academic support, service learning and philanthropy, and diverse programming.
Greek Life
The fraternities and sororities are an established tradition at the University of Georgia, dating back more than 150 years. There are currently 59 national Greek-letter men’s and women’s groups. The self-governing, self-supporting bodies of the fraternities and sororities are the Interfraternity Council, the National Pan-Hellenic Council, the Multicultural Greek Council, and the Panhellenic Council. These groups coordinate events, provide educational programs, establish community wide regulations and implement policies for their member organizations.
