The Graduate Student Commons, located in room 619 Aderhold Hall, is provided by the Department of Educational Psychology and Instructional Technology and is maintained by the Graduate Researchers in Educational Psychology and Instructional Technology (GREPIT) student association. The Commons are actually divided into three portions: a computer lab and work area, a library and resource center, and a lounge area.
Computer Lab and Work Area

At present, the computer lab and work area has three PCs and one Mac machine. The Mac in the room is equipped with Macromedia MX 2004 suite, Microsoft Office, and Inspiration 7.5. All of the PCs are equipped with the Macromedia MX 2004 suite, Adobe CS suite, Microsoft Office, and Inspiration 7.5. One of the PCs is also connected to a laser printer and has SPSS 12.0. GREPIT will supply one toner cartridge per semester for the printer, so please only print what is needed and use the "Print Preview" option before printing.
To use any of the machine you can login to the "Workstation Only" using the username "epit" (without quotation marks and no password). To login using your own account information, make sure the "Workstation Only" box is not checked and use your UGA myID and password.
There is also a book shelf with various software and computer manuals for student use. The computer lab will be receiving three more networked PCs before the end of the Spring 06 semester.
As this space is also a work area, students are asked to return the chairs to their rightful place if students are moving them around.

Library and Resource Center

The library portion of the Commons houses well over a thousand books, magazine, journals, yearbooks, and conference proceeding that have been donated by faculty and staff, collected by students, and purchased by one of the EPIT student associations. In addition to thes print resources, there are also video resources (along with a television and VCR) available.
One of the more unique portions of the Commons' collection is the dissertations from the Instructional Technology concentration area. The dissertations from the four Educational Psychology concentration areas (i.e., ACD, GCE, REMS, and SP) are currently housed on the third floor in one of the conference rooms.
Students who are using these materials are asked to sign out their materials in the binder provided at the entrance to the room. Students are also asked to re-shelf items in their proper place or leave them on the "Returned Items" table.
In case you are wondering, the light switch is between the two large bookshelves.
