The University of Georgia offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in several areas of study at the Griffin campus. The bachelor's degree-completion programs are open to transfer students or those seeking a second bachelor’s degree.
UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS currently offered include:
Agribusiness: The agribusiness major prepares students for professional careers in agribusiness marketing, management, and finance. Agribusinesses process and market food and fiber products, supply inputs to agricultural production, and manage agricultural production. Agribusiness majors learn economic principles and strategies for agribusiness marketing and management.
Biological Science: This major provides a very flexible program of study that prepares you for graduate and professional study and for careers in business, industry or government. A biological science major is a perfect fit if you are interested in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, molecular biology, genetics, microbiology, cellular biology, and/or ecology. If you are interested in entering medical or veterinary school, this major may be of interest to you.
Consumer Economics: This major leads to a Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences.
Environmental Resource Science: This major is intended to fill the increasing niche of careers in urban agriculture that require students to have a strong foundation in both the basic and applied sciences, an understanding of the interconnectedness of the sciences, and practical work experiences in urban environmental and agricultural arenas. Graduates from the Griffin program will gain practical knowledge and problem-solving skills that will enable them to compete for career opportunities in government, environmental consulting firms and environmental research laboratories.
General Business: This field of study provides students with general training in business administration and provides coursework in more than one academic area. General Business is an appropriate major for students who wish to obtain a broad background in business or who intend to pursue an advanced degree.
Microbiology: The BS degree with a major in Microbiology is a liberal arts degree with the major course work concentrated in the biological sciences. This degree prepares students for a number of careers and for advanced studies. A bachelor’s degree in microbiology provides students a solid foundation for professional programs in veterinary medicine, dentistry, medicine, pharmacy, etc., as well as for advanced degrees in the biological sciences, for example, Master of Science (MS) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees.
Special Education: This major leads to a Bachelor of Science (B.S.Ed.) in Special Education, with an emphasis in teacher preparation in the area of mild disabilities (e.g., learning disabilities). Upon satisfactory completion of the program, the student may be recommended to the Georgia Professional Standards Commission for a clear renewable teaching certificate in Special Education General Curriculum (P-12). GRADUATE DEGREE PROGRAMS currently offered include:
Agricultural Leadership: The Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education, and Communication (ALEC) at The University of Georgia offers this innovative program to individuals interested in completing a master’s degree via videoconferencing and Web based instruction. Included on this site are key features and requirements.
Mathematics Education: This program leads to either a Master's or Educational Specialist degree. It is offered to elementary and middle school teachers certified at grades PreK-5 or 4-8.

ABOVE: In April, students in an agricultural leadership class participated in a service-learning project with Chick-Fil-A to raise money for a book scholarship fund. When they made their class presentation they were surprised by a special guest: Chick-Fil-A founder Truett Cathy.
