Hello, everyone!
This semester so far has been busy for UGA Habitat. We cooked up some delicious pancakes during a Pancake Supper earlier this semester. We had Slam The Door on Poverty on October 24. There was the Homecoming Parade on November 6th, and we won first place for our float in the Non-Greek organization category! And we collected cans for our Gameday Recycling event which we held for all home games this football season. We played some exciting trivia yesterday at Blind Pig Tavern. Thanks for supporting us by coming out to these events!
But do you know what the best part is? There's still more events left in the semester!
Get ready, everyone, because it's time for Turkey Trot again! Turkey Trot is our annual 5K race, and it will be held on December 5th. Registrations are open for people wishing to participate, and you can also sign up to volunteer. Right now, Justin needs help getting sponsors for the event. You can contact him at jb2020@uga.edu.
Gift Wrap Across Georgia is the biggest fundraiser for UGA Habitat. It takes place during the week before Christmas in stores all across Georgia. Right now, Megan is looking for store leaders who will help run the event at a store and lots of volunteers who will come out to wrap the gifts. You can sign up and/or ask questions by emailing Megan at megcovey@uga.edu.
Although fundraising and advocacy are important at UGA Habitat, what would be Habitat For Humanity without building? The next build opportunity is this Saturday, November 21, from 9 to 3. Please come to the General Meeting today to sign up for a spot, or please contact Nathan at nathan.raley@gmail.com.
And we would like to mention that UGA Habitat will be needing new dedicated officers to lead this organization for 2010. More information will be available soon.

New Semester, New Beginning 25 Aug 2009
Welcome back, everyone!
The Fall 2009 semester started, and we hope everyone is getting adjusted to their new classes. We also hope that you include UGA Habitat in your schedule. ;)
We ended the Spring 2009 semester with several events. Act! Speak! Build! Week 2009 was held from March 29 through April 5, Trivia Night at Blind Pig Tavern was held on April 9, and Pancake Supper was held on April 26. And we topped it off with an ice cream party for the last general meeting. Thanks to everyone who came out to any of these events and supported UGA Habitat.
We have some exciting events planned out for the Fall semester as well. You can find out more about them in our first general meeting of the semester on September 9 at 7 PM in MLC room 348.

Get involved! 18 Feb 2009
There are several ways to get involved in UGA Habitat For Humanity:
Our Recycling Coordinators are collecting aluminum cans for UGA Habitat. The recycled cans will help us sponsor our Houses. It is also a great way to save the environment. More information could be found on the Facebook group page.
We are looking for a great T-Shirt Design for Act!Speak!Build! Week in early April. If you have an idea you would like to submit, please email Major Fundraising Chair Megan Covey at megcovey@uga.edu by March 4th.
UGA Habitat is looking for Habitat Ambassadors. We are currently conducting interviews for this position. Please contact VP of Campus Outreach Kayla Calhoun at kcalhoun89@gmail.com if you are interested.
