Meeting Minutes 25 Feb 2009
Hello, Habi-dawgs!

We had several new members at our general meeting today. Welcome!

Our VP of Campus Outreach Kayla Calhoun is still looking for more Habitat Ambassadors. Some duties as an ambassador this semester are helping out with Pancake Supper, speaking to 3 different organizations about UGA Habitat, and attending one officer meeting. You have until Friday to sign up for an interview spot. Please contact Kayla Calhoun at kcalhoun89@gmail.com.

Everyone loves building at UGA Habitat. We have a sign-up sheet for weekend build spots after every meeting. Please make sure you check your weekend availability before you sign up. You can contact VP of Projects Nathan Raley at nathan.raley@gmail.com to sign up for a build spot.

This year, we're implementing a build merit system. Because we have so many volunteers for our weekend build spots, we are going to ask you about your involvement in UGA Habitat For Humanity.

But we love our club members so much, we're giving everyone a build opportunity. Come out to our next meeting on March 18th, and we will build bird houses! We will use these bird houses in a fundraiser to raise money to help build our 11th house.

Act!Speak!Build! Week is coming up soon, and we need your help. We need a lot of cardboard boxes for A!S!B! Week. And we're talking about massive cardboard boxes like the ones used for furniture.

Speaking of A!S!B! Week, our T-Shirt Design Contest is still going on. Winner will receive a Target gift card, a free t-shirt, and of course, bragging rights. If you have an idea you would like to submit, please send them to Major Fundraising Chair Megan Covey at megcovey@uga.edu by March 4th.

Also, we will be holding a percentage night at Ben & Jerry's on March 19th. You scream, I scream, We all scream for ice cream!

Our Recycling Coordinators are collecting cans! Please join I Wanna Touch Your Cans on Facebook if you haven't already. Also, they are looking for people to help them out with their event at a local elementary school. If you are interested, contact them at cansforhabitat@gmail.com.
