The Fall 2009 semester started, and we hope everyone is getting adjusted to their new classes. We also hope that you include UGA Habitat in your schedule. ;)
We ended the Spring 2009 semester with several events. Act! Speak! Build! Week 2009 was held from March 29 through April 5, Trivia Night at Blind Pig Tavern was held on April 9, and Pancake Supper was held on April 26. And we topped it off with an ice cream party for the last general meeting. Thanks to everyone who came out to any of these events and supported UGA Habitat.
We have some exciting events planned out for the Fall semester as well. You can find out more about them in our first general meeting of the semester on September 9 at 7 PM in MLC room 348.
A new event that UGA Habitat will host this semester is Battle of the Bands. Slam the Door on Poverty will be making a comeback as well in October. There will be another Pancake Supper in October. Our annual events, Turkey Trot and Gift Wrap will also be hosted near the end of the semester.
More details of these exciting events will be available as the semester progresses. So please join us for our general meetings.
Also, we will be at the Volunteer UGA Fair on September 1 and at the Activities Fair on September 9. If you can, please come by and say hi!
And we have some cool news. At the end of last semester, UGA Habitat made our annual international tithe, and we decided to donate $2600 to Madagascar, which is enough for one and a half house. We received news that the house we sponsored is now done!

See you next Wednesday!
