The UGA Chapter of Habitat for Humanity was founded in 1994. As a chapter, we work to fulfill the four pillars established by Habitat for Humanity International through all of our events, fundraisers and meetings. More about us can be found in the About section.
There are several different ways your campus organization can get involved with UGA Habitat. Please browse through the information below to learn about how to get involved. If you have any questions or would like to provide assistance, co-host, and/or sponsor an event or fundraiser, please email the UGA Habitat Presidents at uga.habitat.pres@gmail.com.
UGA Habitat created a UGA Habitat Ambassadors Program in 2006 to establish better relations with other student organizations on UGA's campus. If your organization would like to learn about Habitat for Humanity, UGA Habitat for Humanity and receive more information on how you can get involved, please contact the VP of Campus Outreach Kayla Calhoun at kcalhoun89@gmail.com to schedule a short presentation to be given at your organization's next meeting!
A great way to get some positive PR for the Greek community is to help sponsor Habitat for Humanity. You can help by directly donating to our 10th home or by becoming a sponsor for any of our events. We have plenty of fundraisers and events throughout the year, and if you are interested in participating, please feel free to contact the VP of Campus Outreach Kayla Calhoun at kcalhoun89@gmail.com.
UGA Habitat for Humanity created a can recycling program in 2000 to serve as a fundraiser and to help promote recycling on campus and in the Athens community. If you would like to begin a recycling program at your Greek house or with your organization, please contact the Recycling Coordinators at cansforhabitat@gmail.com.

UGA Habitat only reserves build spots for our members who have participated or helped organize a past UGA Habitat event. All sign-ups for build spots are done at our general meetings. If your group would like to build on a Habitat for Humanity house, your organization will need to sign up through the local affiliate, Athens Area Habitat for Humanity. Please visit their website, www.athenshabitat.com, and/or contact the Athens Area Habitat Volunteer Coordinator Zach Alig at zach@athenshabitat.com for more information. He will be able to help you with any questions or requests that you have about your organization building with Habitat for Humanity.
