Ryan Nesbit, who has served the University of Georgia as interim vice president for finance and administration since last July, has been named to the position permanently effective April 1. The appointment was announced today by UGA President Jere W. Morehead.

Walk Georgia to have night with the Hawks
UGA Extension’s Walk Georgia is partnering with the Atlanta Hawks for Walk Georgia Night March 15 at 5 p.m. in Philips Arena in Atlanta. Participants will get early entry, access to pre-game activities and a free T-shirt. They then can watch the Hawks take on the Denver Nuggets. Tickets are $15.
Baseball team to host Western Kentucky
The Diamond Dogs will play a two-game series against Western Kentucky University March 11-12. Both games start at 6 p.m. at Foley Field. Tickets are $5 to $8.
Students to get spring break
The last day of classes before spring break will be March 7. No classes will be held March 10-14. Residence halls, except for Reed, Payne and East Campus Village, will close March 8 at noon. Campus Transit will operate its intersession service March 10-14. Food Services, except for the Village Summit, will be closed during spring break. Classes resume March 17.
