Eco Latino
A group of students of high schools in Athens visited the facilities of Eco Latino and the newspaper Athens Banner-Herald at the News Building on Tuesday, June 15 at downtown Athens.
The group of approximately 40 students, most of them Hispanics, were part of the summer program of education "Steps to College" where the participants have the opportunity to visit and learn more about university programs and different jobs and organizations. The list of activities for June 15 also included a visit to the distribution warehouse of Jittery Joe's coffee place from where it distributes coffee to Athens and surrounding areas.
During the visit to Eco Latino's office and ABH, the students learned about the process of creating and distributing publications. They visited the departments of advertising, marketing, photography, Internet and news. They also witness the printing process. The program Steps to College is done every year and looks to educate and stimulate students to follow their university studies.
