In Summer 2002, 138 students participated in Gainesville College's five-week STC program, up from 104 students who took part in the program in 2001.

Participants

  • 138 high school students from Hall County, Forsyth County, and Gainesville City school systems, 120 of whom completed 66 hours of instruction and received Carnegie units toward high school graduation
  • 14 Gainesville College students who gained experience as teacher aids
  • 10 participating public school teachers who completed field experience in ESOL for their Georgia Certificates

Participating Organizations

  • Forsyth County, Gainesville City, and Hall County School Systems recruited students, provided transportation, and advised on course offerings.

  • Hall County International Welcome Center
