History Department Computer Lab Policies

  1. Cellular phones are NOT allowed to be used inside the lab.
  2. The viewing of pornographic material is prohibited.
  3. No food, drinks, smoking, or chewing tobacco are allowed.
  4. This lab is only for students currently-enrolled in history courses, faculty, and staff.
  5. The History Department is not responsible for lost or damaged data. Please save your work frequently.
  6. Do not save any files to the local machine; saved files are deleted each time a user logs out.
  7. Do not print more than 25 pages at a time.
  8. No special paper: If you purchase special paper for a resume or term paper, you should go to a professional printing/copying company to print your work. Due to problems in the past, we will only print on our own paper.
  9. Students cannot install fonts nor reconfigure computer settings.
  10. Do not share your password and account(s). You are responsible and will be held accountable for any activity that occurs.
  11. Any user found sending harassing e-mail or using computers with the intent to harm, hack, or compromise will be subject to prosecution.
  12. The installation of personal software is forbidden.
  13. Only Lab Staff and faculty are allowed behind the desk.
  14. Do not connect personal equipment or computers to the lab workstations. If you need assistance, please ask.
  15. Unreleased print jobs are deleted after 30 minutes.
  16. Please be sure to log out of your computer. You are responsible and will be held accountable for any activity that occurs.
  17. No animals, except guide dogs, are allowed.
  18. Modification of lab software/hardware is strictly forbidden.
  19. After logging out, please push in your chair for the next user.
  20. No postings (flyers, posters, campaign posters, etc...) are allowed in the lab.
