History
Department Computer Lab Policies
- Cellular phones are NOT
allowed to be used inside the lab.
- The viewing of
pornographic material is prohibited.
- No food, drinks,
smoking, or chewing tobacco are allowed.
- This lab is only for
students currently-enrolled in history courses, faculty, and staff.
- The History Department
is not responsible for lost or damaged data. Please save your work
frequently.
- Do not save any files to
the local machine; saved files are deleted each time a user logs out.
- Do not print more than
25 pages at a time.
- No special paper: If you
purchase special paper for a resume or term paper, you should go to a
professional printing/copying company to print your work. Due to problems
in the past, we will only print on our own paper.
- Students cannot install
fonts nor reconfigure computer settings.
- Do not share your
password and account(s). You are responsible and will be held accountable
for any activity that occurs.
- Any user found sending
harassing e-mail or using computers with the intent to harm, hack, or
compromise will be subject to prosecution.
- The installation of
personal software is forbidden.
- Only Lab Staff and
faculty are allowed behind the desk.
- Do not connect personal
equipment or computers to the lab workstations. If you need assistance,
please ask.
- Unreleased print jobs
are deleted after 30 minutes.
- Please be sure to log
out of your computer. You are responsible and will be held accountable for
any activity that occurs.
- No animals, except guide
dogs, are allowed.
- Modification of lab
software/hardware is strictly forbidden.
- After logging out,
please push in your chair for the next user.
- No postings (flyers,
posters, campaign posters, etc...) are allowed in the lab.
- Users are also subject
to the University
of Georgia's
Computer Security and Ethics regulations (http://www.uga.edu/~compsec)
