General Info
Photocopy Policy: Exams and class handouts should be placed in the tray at least three working days before they are needed. Manuscripts and articles, depending on the length, should also be turned in at least one to three weeks before date requested. Sufficient lead time will allow staff to meet all copying requests in a timely manner.

Desk Copy Request: Mail or fax directly to publisher
Teaching Requests: Please list the courses you are requesting to teach on the appropriate form, then submit to
the Instructional Coordinator. If you need to request A/V, please note it on the form.
We make every atempt to fulfill your requests. However, due to the high demand for classroom
space both with and without A/V, we are not always able to give you your first choice. Rooms: You do not need to request seminar rooms for seminar classes, etc.
Those are automatically assigned to the appropriate rooms. Please not that we cannot
request the SLC for classes of less than 100 students.
History Department Annual Award Nominations: Please click on an award name (in red) to complete a very short cover sheet for each nomination, to submit with your letter of nomination and student papers. Please nominate only those students eligible for the award. Faculty nominators are expected to present the award to the recipient at the annual awards reception.

- *Warner-Fite Scholarship in History: to be presented to an outstanding undergraduate or graduate student in American/US history
- *Thomas Pleasant Vincent Sr. History Scholarship: to be presented to a distinguished undergraduate or graduate student with interest in Georgia history
- Encouragement to Teach Award: to be presented to a history graduate student or undergraduate history major who will teach history at a state college or a junior college or a high school; this reward is intended to encourage a young history teacher to do the best that he/she possibly can in his/her career as a history teacher in order to encourage young people to read and study history
- *The Linda J. Piper Award for Study Abroad is a joint fund of the Departments of Classics and History, administered by the Classics Department. The award, established in honor of Professor Linda J. Piper, alternates between the Departments of Classics and History with Classics bestowing the award in odd-numbered years. It is intended to assist students to offset expenses, such as tuition, fees, and transportation costs, directly related to study abroad. (History Dept. received this in 2008.)
*Scholarships reduce obligation of upcoming year. Make sure student is returning.
