History Student Information
Note: For the first couple of weeks of Summer and Fall 2008 registration, all upper division history courses are available to History Major Juniors and Seniors (those who have completed 60 or more hours, and declared their History Major with the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences).
All undergraduate students MAY ALSO REGISTER for any history course as of April 10 when we take off the ‘POM’ designation.
6000-level Graduate courses will be available to all graduate students April. 15.

UGA at Gwinnett UGA offers undergraduate degree programs at the Gwinnett University Center in Lawrenceville and graduate degree programs, plus business and community programs. Atlanta residents enjoy the convenient location at the Gwinnett University Center, just off Highway 316 at Collins Hill Road, and students with job or family obligations can take classes in the daytime, evening or on Saturdays. |
Phi Alpha Theta Epsilon Pi, UGA's chapter of the National History Honor Society is open to Undergraduate students who have completed at least 12 semester hours (4 courses) with a GPA of at least 3.1 in History, have a GPA of 3.0 or better overall, and be in the top 35% of the class. Membership is not limited to History majors. The chapter widely advertises the membership drive shortly after the start of the fall term. |

Study Abroad UGA offers over 90 study abroad and exchange programs to its students. UGA is also a member of various organizations that offer many additional programs. Students can also select from programs offered by American universities or directly enroll in a foreign university. |
Distance Education/ Independent Study The University of Georgia offers a variety of self-directed study opportunities, including University System of Georgia Independent and Distance Learning, eCore®: Georgia's College Core Curriculum Online, and UGA at Gwinnett. |

Franklin College of Arts and Sciences The Franklin College is the central and oldest part of UGA, with more than 700 faculty members and 13,000 undergraduate and graduate students. The college has more than two dozen departments, thirty centers and programs, and four schools. |
Honors
Program Providing Honors students with special classes in the core curriculum, more intensive versions of classes required for majors, upper division classes, Honors colloquia, seminars, and research courses culminating in a thesis. Professor Kirk Willis is the Honors advisor in History. |
