Purpose of the Council
Accomplishments
The Council has developed print and electronic media as educational tools and resources such as this website. They have engaged in many classroom and organizational presentations about “A Culture of Honesty” and its importance to the University community. They also have created a number of new traditions – events held annually – to further their outreach and interaction with the University community including a street painting event and Academic Honesty Awareness Week.
Expectations of Council Members
Members represent the Council, the Office of the Vice President for Instruction, and the University of Georgia, and therefore must exemplify the highest standards of academic honesty. Active participation in the outreach efforts and educational activities of the Council is required of every member. Personal interaction with members of the University community should demonstrate explicitly and implicitly the values embodied in “A Culture of Honesty” and serve as an example to others.
Council Structure
The Council is divided into several committees guided by an Executive Council. Members are expected to join and actively participate in at least one committee. At the conclusion of each school year, each committee selects a chair for the coming academic calendar year, thus providing leadership opportunities for those students interested in developing leadership skills.
