Combined Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree
The combined bachelor’s/master’s degree program is sponsored by the Honors Program in conjunction with the Graduate School. The Honors Program assists potential candidates throughout the process. Advisors direct them to participating departments, guide them through the requirements of the involved schools, and help departments and deans monitor each candidate's progress. A combined bachelor’s/master’s degree calls for a carefully coordinated four-year plan of study and close cooperation among several academic advisors. Students interested in the combined degree program should discuss the opportunity with an Honors advisor while they are first-year students. Prospective candidates should have obtained credit for at least five courses through Advanced Placement or joint enrollment and be prepared to begin at least second-year level studies during the first year at the University. They should have strong SAT or ACT scores and a firm commitment to a specific major. Prospective candidates must complete all of the requirements for admission to the Graduate School as a master's candidate for the department in which they plan to work, with the exception of the completion of the bachelor’s degree.
