Fourth-year students may request Honors access to Spring 2008 courses on or after Wednesday, August 27, 2008. Third-year students may request Honors access on or after Thursday, August 28, 2008. You may come to Moore College or call the Honors Program front desk at 542-3240 between 8 AM and 5 PM Monday through Friday to get your POH. First-and second-year students will receive POH at their advising appointments.

Don't forget to make an advising appointment with your advisor for Spring 2008. Honors students can make advising appointments online with the Student Advising & Registration Assistant, SARA. You may wish to bookmark this page. Directions for using SARA can be found below. If you experience problems, please contact the Honors Program.

Second-year students may go online to make an appointment beginning on Tuesday September 2, 2008. Advising appointments for second-year students will begin on September 4, 2008.

First-year students may go online to make an appointment beginning on September 18, 2008.
Advising appointments for first years will begin on September 22, 2008.

Third- and fourth-year students and other students who have questions for Honors advisors but who do not need to be cleared for registration should come to advisors’ walk-in hours, Monday through Thursday from 2-4 PM. Please check in at the front desk.

Once you have logged into SARA, choose “Make an appointment,” confirm your major, and then choose “Proceed to list of advising appointments,” which will bring you to a list of your advisor’s available appointment times. Schedule the appointment by clicking on the best available time from those displayed. If  you encounter difficulties, or your advisor does not appear to have any open appointments, call 542-3240 and set up an appointment with the front desk. Students who need to cancel or reschedule an appointment must do so 24 hours in advance.

Arts & Sciences, Pre-Business, and Journalism students will be advised in both Moore College and Myers Hall. Seniors, Juniors, and other students who have questions for Honors advisors but who do not need to be cleared for registration should come to advisors’ walk-in hours, Monday through Thursday from 2-4 PM.

EXCEPTIONS:
Students majoring in Math, Computer Science, Physics, or Physics & Astronomy should see Dr. Ted Shifrin for advising (sign-up sheets will be posted outside Dr. Shifrin’s office in 444 Boyd Graduate Studies).

Students majoring in BIOCHEMISTRY who have 45 hours or more completed must be advised by their department. Biochemistry majors should contact Dr. Mike Adams, adams@bmb.uga.edu, 542-2060 to set up an advising appointment.
MUSIC majors must be advised by Dr. Mary Leglar (mleglar@uga.edu) in the Music Dept.

* Students in other schools and colleges (e.g. College of Education, CAES, SPIA) must see their college advisors to receive clearance for registration; they may schedule a follow-up appointment with an Honors advisor if desired (optional).

* Students with 60 or more credit hours MUST be advised by their major department; no Honors appointment is necessary. Exception: Students who are Pre-Business or Pre-Journalism majors and have not yet been accepted to their major in Terry or Grady should meet with an Honors advisor.
