ABOUT CURO-AP

The CURO Apprentice Program (CURO-AP) creates research partnerships between students (freshman and sophomores) and faculty research mentors.


Program Features

Research projects available in a wide variety of fields
Academic support and introduction to relevant campus services
Special activities including research symposia and guest lecturers
Learning skills workshops including the use of specific software programs, the Internet for research, library research, and research writing skills
Entrance open only to students as incoming first years

Time Commitment

CURO-AP participation is similar to taking a 3 credit hour class or having a part-time job. URAP students work an average of 10-12 hours per week for the entire academic year. In addition, participants register for a 1-hour research seminar for academic credit that meets weekly.


Compensation

CURO-AP participants receive a stipend of $1000 per semester.
