THE YEAR IN CURO-AP

Here is an inside look at major CURO-AP events for the school year:

Early Summer
Complete the CURO-AP application.
Summer
You are accepted and register for the Honors Research Forum (HONS 1990H).
August
Arrive on campus and meet with the CURO-AP staff and interview with faculty research sponsors to find a research project that interests you.
September/October/November
Begin working on your research project, learning what it means to be a researcher at the University of Georgia, from your faculty mentor, your peers, and research forum and readings.
December
Second-year students work with their faculty research mentors on their abstracts and applications to participate in the CURO Symposium. (This is optional for first-year apprentices.)
January
Second-year and participating first-year students submit their abstracts for the CURO Symposium, and all apprentices investigate summer research and internship possibilities.
February/March
Continue to acquire new skills and knowledge through working on your research project.
April
Having developed expertise on your research project, you are now ready to
participate in and support your fellow apprentices at the CURO Symposium.
