Room Changes Current residents of University Housing residence halls may request room and/or hall reassignment using the online room change and hall transfer request system. Requests are first categorized by type of request and then in the order in which the request was received. The request types are: Type 1: A student requests a space in a specific room. Type 2: A student requests an empty space in another room in the same hall in which they are currently assigned. Type 3: Two students request each other as roommates and request to room together in the same hall in which both of them are currently assigned. Type 4: A student requests an empty space in another hall. Type 5: Two students request each other as roommates and request an empty room together in another hall. Room change and hall transfer requests are maintained throughout the contract period and then destroyed. To learn more about the Room Change/Hall Transfer Process, click here. Private Room Requests Residents who would prefer to live without a roommate may request one of the following options: Single Rooms: A handful of single rooms are available in some residence halls. Online waiting lists are maintained in order to offer assignments to single rooms in all halls. Student names will remain on the Single Room Waiting List(s) as long as students remain on-campus residents. Click here to make a Single Room request. Students must enter their UGA MyID in order to access this site. Double Room as Private (DAP): If space is available, rooms typically assigned to two residents may be assigned to a single student. Online waiting lists are maintained in order to DAP room assignments. Unlike single room waiting lists, DAP waiting lists are only maintained to the end of the current academic year and are then destroyed. Click here to make a Double Room as Private request. Students must enter their UGA MyID in order to access this site. East Campus Village (ECV): The East Campus Village community of residence halls offer apartment style student living without ever leaving campus. While ECV residents do share their apartments with one to three other students, every resident enjoys a completely private bedroom. Also, all ECV residents have private or semiprivate bathrooms, with no more than two residents per bathroom. For more information on East Campus Village please click here.
