Frequently asked questions

The following information applies to newly admitted and currently enrolled UGA students who wish to live in a residence hall while enrolled in any of the summer sessions.

Please note that the University of Georgia's First Year Live-On Requirement applies to those first year students attending any summer session unless specifically exempted in writing by the Director of Residence Hall Administrative Operations. How to sign up:

Newly admitted students can register online from the "Register for Housing" section of this site, available here.

Currently enrolled students who are currently living off campus must email the Assignments Office for a copy of the Summer Housing Registration Form. Current on-campus residents will select a Summer 2008 space in April 2008. More information will sent to current resident's UGA email by late March 2008.

Non-enrolled visiting scholars and interns requiring summer housing are invited to participate in UGA Housing's Conference Services program. For complete information on this program please click here.

Summer Availability:

Oglethorpe House will be open for accommodation of enrolled UGA students. Typically space is available for all students who apply. Many current residents of Oglethorpe House will be given the opportunity to reside in their own room during the summer, however, some floors and other resident's rooms will be unavailable due to space reservations for summer conferences, scheduled maintenance, or other issues.

Residents of East Campus Village Buildings 1512, 1514 and Rooker Hall will continue their 11.5 month contracts through summer 2008. No new ECV assignments will be made for any summer session. ECV McWhorter Hall will be closed for summer 2008.

When to sign up:

April 7, 2008: 9:00 a.m. — 5:00 p.m.
All current residents of Oglethorpe House who wish to reside in their same room for the summer (with the exception of those students assigned to unavailable rooms) may sign up for their same
room in the Oglethorpe House Lobby.

April 8, 2008: 9:00 a.m. — 5:00 p.m.
All current residents of Oglethorpe House who wish to reside on campus Summer 2008 may select any available room in the
Oglethorpe House Lobby.

April 8, 2008: 6:00 p.m. — 9:00 p.m.
All current residents of University Housing living in any hall may sign
up for a Summer 2008 space in the Oglethorpe House Lobby.

April 9 & April 10, 2008: 9:00 a.m. — 5:00 p.m.
All current residents of University Housing living in any hall may sign up for a Summer 2008 space in the Oglethorpe House Lobby.

Starting April 11, 2008
Starting April 11th, all summer assignments will be made in the Housing Assignments Office located in the first floor of Russell Hall. On-campus residents may sign up between 8-5 Monday-Friday.

Contract Activation:

All students who have registered for Housing will receive an email notifying them when their contract is ready for execution. Please be sure to check your official UGA email account on a regular basis to ensure you do not miss this important notification.

Rates and Billing Information:

Rates for summer 2008 accommodations can be found here.

All summer school rent will be billed directly through the Student Accounts system, with payments due on the dates established by the Bursar's Office. All communication regarding billing will be delivered via students' official UGA email account.
