Celebrate diversity
It's your right to be different. And at UGA, you can be different without worrying about whether
or not you will be accepted, find new friends, feel at ease. You will feel your individuality in
the midst of a community that depends on and encourages your involvement.

We know that your unique
perspective makes this place more enriching. We encourage you to find your own voice, claim your passion,
and be proud of it.
There are lots of ways to celebrate diversity on UGA's campus. There's the CLASS Advocate Program,
which supports and enriches the on-campus experience for African American students by placing 13
CLASS advocates in residence halls across campus. And each year, the Residence Hall Association sponsors
DAWG Days, or "Diversity Awareness Week at Georgia," a week-long program that features guest lectures,
student performances, debates, food tastings, and dinners, among other activities. Topics covered during
DAWG Days often include race and ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, body image and size-ism, and
students with disabilities, to name a few.
These programs and more teach us to not only acknowledge each member of our on-campus community,
but to learn about and respect our various heritages, beliefs, and ideologies.
