Participate in government Residence hall government, that is. The Residence Hall Association (RHA), UGA's primary governing body for all residence halls across campus, seeks active individuals to assist with the development of residence hall policies, procedures, and programs, ensure that the housing facilities are maintained, represent the interests of students living on campus, and plan activities and programs for residents. RHA is made up of hall and community councils, the governing groups formed in each residence hall. The councils, composed of elected officials, meet regularly to discuss the needs and requests of residents and plan programs and activities for the halls. Participating in residence hall government is a great way to get to know your fellow students. It's also great career preparation -- the challenges you'll face, the experience you'll gain, and the people you meet will help you learn to juggle responsibility and to interact diplomatically with your peers. Take charge now, and learn more about RHA and opportunities to get involved by checking out the RHA web site. |
