Russell Community
The residence hall council and staff at Russell Community actively engage students with a
variety of intramural, educational, cultural, and social programs and activities. There are
also many opportunities to get involved in residence hall government at Russell Community.
Russell houses approximately 975 first-year men and women in double-occupancy
rooms. The hall is divided into the Augusta, Halifax, Savannah, and Stewart colonies,
and colonies are further divided into neighborhoods, each with its own lounge and
bathroom. A handful of the rooms in Russell Hall (rooms 384, 385, 386 and 387) are double rooms equipped with private bathrooms.
All rooms feature high-speed Internet access, air conditioning, cable TV and 17-position loftable beds. Community features include a volleyball court, basketball and tennis
courts, a computer lab, study rooms, kitchens, and a laundry facility. The new Russell
Academic Center, which features high-tech classrooms, laptop computers, and quiet
study space, are also located here.
Russell Community offers option "1" visitation; visitation is
permitted Monday - Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m., and 24 hours
a day beginning 10:00 a.m. Friday and ending at 2:00 a.m. Monday (Sunday
