About Us

IABC @ UGA is a student chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators. We are affiliated with the IABC/Atlanta professional chapter.

Our focus is to connect students at UGA with professionals working in fields relating to business communications. Students of all majors are welcome to attend meetings, become members, and will undoubtedly benefit from involvement with our chapter. Our meetings and events are relevant to fields ranging from economics to public relations and more.

In 2009, we were named the IABC National Student Chapter of the Year! Janna White, chapter relations manager at the San Francisco-based IABC World Headquarters, said, "The combination of strategy, innovation and succession planning shown by the chapter across their programs led the judges to unanimously name IABC at the University of Georgia the 2009 Student Chapter of the Year."

UGA made a clean sweep of the student chapter awards when Elizabeth Kirby, then president of IABC at UGA, was also named 2009 Student Chapter Leader of the Year.

Don't miss out on being a part of our award-winning organization!
