Arthur N. Dunning is the University of Georgia's vice president for public service and outreach and associate provost. As the third person to hold the position of UGA vice president for public service and outreach, Dunning directs the largest campus-based outreach program in the nation, including 14 individual units, plus outreach activities in UGA's colleges and schools.

Since 1995, Dunning was the senior vice chancellor for human and external resources for the University System, responsible for legal affairs, human resources, economic development, legislative affairs, and external affairs. He was a key aide to System Chancellor Stephen Portch in strategic planning and policy development. Before that position, Dunning served as acting executive vice chancellor of the System for a year, and from 1987-1992, was vice chancellor for services with responsibility for all matters related to public service, outreach, and international programs at the System's 34 institutions. He also managed the System's 18 study-abroad programs in 10 countries.

Dunning served three years as chief executive officer of the Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education, Inc., and was on the executive committee of the Georgia Council on Economic Education, the boards of directors of the Center for Trade and Technology Transfer and the African Business Development Center, and the board of advisers of the European Center of Georgia. Dunning also served as a member of the advisory committee for the University System Center for Global Education. Dunning has held academic posts at Kennesaw State University and the University of Alabama.
