IHE FACULTY AND STAFF
The faculty of the Institute of Higher Education constitutes a vibrant intellectual community spanning multiple disciplines, scholarly interests, and areas of professional expertise. As in many leading higher education programs, the faculty includes nationally recognized scholars, policy experts, and senior leaders of higher education institutions. But the Institute faculty offers unique strengths in addition: Multidisciplinary expertise: faculty hold degrees in disciplines including psychology, political science, history, sociology, and economics, as well as higher education. Several faculty also have backgrounds in public administration, business, and law. Emphasis on law and higher education: IHE has an exceptional concentration of faculty expert in higher education law, and is active in publishing, offering seminars and symposia, and public service relating to legal issues in education through the newly formed Education Law Consortium. Emphasis on faculty development: Since its founding 40 years ago, the IHE faculty has been committed to innovative programs and research in faculty development; current initiatives include the Governor's Teaching Fellows, Faculty Development in Georgia, and the Postdoctoral Teaching Fellows. International focus: The IHE faculty has established collaborative programs, faculty and student exchanges, and higher education development initiatives with universities and systems in Bath, England; China; Croatia; Heidelberg, Germany; Oxford, England; Tunisia; and other institutions worldwide.
