The Institute of Higher Education will host a meeting of researchers focusing on college and university organization. The event will open with a welcoming dinner on the evening of May 28 and end midday on May 30 This will be a distinctive scholarly conference, featuring not only presentations of new empirical research by highly respected theorists but also opportunities for vigorous collegial discussion of emerging developments in organizational theory and research.

All events will be held on site at the Institute of Higher Education, Meigs Hall on the University of Georgia campus in Athens. Registrants will be responsible for their own travel and lodging arrangements and expenses, but blocks of rooms have been reserved at two nearby hotels and a complimentary shuttle service will run regularly from Atlanta Hartsfield International Airport to the conference hotels and Meigs Hall.
Each speaker will present a new, unpublished research paper, and each presentation will be followed by a respondent’s comments and audience discussion. The theoretical perspectives, methodological approaches, and substantive foci of the individual papers will vary, but prominent among the themes addressed by the papers are institutional theory, system change, technology-based economic development, research and science policies, and knowledge building in higher education and society. To facilitate informal discussions among researchers with shared interests, the conference will include no more than 75 participants.
