Join IMBIA

Membership Eligibility:

All UGA students, faculty, and staff may join IMBIA.

Membership Types & Privileges:

Currently, membership falls into two categories: associate and full

   associate member

     profile

• meets the eligibility requirements specified above (enrollment in or employment with UGA)
• has attended either one of IMBIA's regular meetings or one of its events
• has requested to become a member

     privileges

• voting in officer elections
• serving on ad hoc committees

   full member

     profile

• has attained associate membership
• has attended at least three consecutive meetings
• continues to attend meetings regularly

     privileges

• voting on any issue that comes before IMBIA
• running for office
• serving on any committee

The privileges listed above pertain to one's influence in IMBIA, which depends, rightly, on the measure of one's involvement in IMBIA. However, please know that one does not need to attain any particular level of membership (indeed, one does not need to be a member at all) to contribute to IMBIA's weekly discussions nor to participate in its special events. Still, we encourage you to attend our meetings often and, ultimately, to become a member of our organization. Both you and IMBIA stand to gain from your involvement.
