Kelsey Jones
Kelsey Anne Jones has found a wide array of enriching opportunities at UGA that allow her to pursue diverse interests from public policy to community service to international travel. A fourth year Foundation Fellow, she is pursuing joint Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees through the Honors Program. Lucas Puente
Senior Honors student Lucas Llanso Puente has a bright future. He has published research about American trade with Nicaragua, and he has worked as an intern at the U.S. embassy in Nicaragua. He is on UGA’s model United Nations team and he holds leadership positions with the Roosevelt Institution, a student-run think tank. Arthur Tripp Jr.
Senior Arthur Tripp plans a future in government. He was part of UGA’s inaugural class in the Washington Semester program, and he was a student representative to the University System of Georgia Board of Regents responsible for advising them on issues important to students. Particularly, he worked to open communication with college textbook publishers and helped create cheaper textbooks for students. Ashley Bartlett
A native of Lake Mary, Fla, Ashley plans to graduate in spring 2011 with a double major in International Affairs and History. Active in UGA’s Honors Program, Ashley has gained valuable academic experience traveling the world as well as participating in the classroom. She plans to one day join the Foreign Service as a political officer.
Jenna Ziesenhene
With sights set on on a career in diplomacy and national/international security, Honors student Jenna Ziesenhene realizes the value of experience. The UGA Washington Semester Program allowed her to serve as an intern in the White House in spring 2010, and she’s also interned at the U.S. Department of Defense (summer 2010) and the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation in Santa Barbara, Calif. Yasmin Yonis
When she was three years old, Yasmin Yonis and her family came to Atlanta as refugees from the civil war in Somalia. This experience has shaped her life in such a way that she plans to take all the experiences and opportunities she has had in the U.S. to make the world better for others who are suffering or disadvantaged.
