Chelsea Welch
Chelsea Welch, a master’s degree student in the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources, plans to use her UGA education as a Peace Corps volunteer and would like to help train the next generation of conservation scientists.
Arnab Banerji
Arnab Banerji, a Ph.D. student in theater and performance studies, has received a handful of campus awards and been involved in several international student events. With the support he has received from his professors, he’s well on the way to his dream of starting his own theater company.
Madison Lamar
Madison Lamar believes in a healthy way of life. From serving as a personal trainer at the Ramsey Student Center, to working on public health issues with UGA’s Archway Partnership, to researching with a gerontologist in the department of child and family development, Madison has chosen to dedicate herself to primary health care and education for all.
Elizabeth Melvin
From her science work with elementary and middle school students to volunteering at Mercy Health Center, Elizabeth Melvin has made the most of her time on campus and calls attending UGA “the smartest decision I have ever made.”
Derek Ponticelli
From studying in an empty classroom in the math building to mentoring middle school students to standing on the top of Mount Kilimanjaro, Honors student Derek Ponticelli has taken full advantage of the “incredible” opportunities he’s encountered as a UGA student.
Smitha Ganeshan
Smitha Ganeshan, a junior Honors student in anthropology and a future doctor, is taking her education beyond the boundaries of campus to volunteer for health care causes in the community and even around the world.
