Amazing Students

Corrie Jackson, a junior majoring in biological sciences and psychology, has “pushed the limits” of everything she could get involved with as a student, from recruitment to mentoring to study abroad. The future pediatric surgeon says those activities have helped…

Mugdha Joshi, a senior majoring in biology and anthropology, has been able to thrive as a scholar, leader and musician at UGA, with plenty of activities, travel and honors to show for it. Next stop: Harvard Medical School.

Marjorie Butler was a star on the UGA women’s basketball team, but her work in the classroom has been just as spectacular. This month, she’s receiving her second bachelor’s degree and has been accepted at nine medical schools.

Amanda Turner, a senior majoring in human development and family science, has taken advantage of many opportunities during her undergraduate years, from UGA Miracle to Freshman Forum to even starting her own student organization.

Kendall Trammell has taken experiential learning to the limit with six internships and a study abroad trip to Spain. Throw in two bachelor’s degrees and a few honors and awards, and it turns into a remarkable undergraduate journey.

UGA is in Derek Hammock’s blood. It started when he was 3 as he watched the Bulldogs between the hedges and has continued through his master’s degree, with plenty of experiences, honors and awards in between.
