Senior Tulsi Patel is a pure scientist. She came to UGA as a freshman because of the Center for Undergraduate Research Opportunities program that allowed her to do scientific research as an undergraduate student. Sonia Talathi
Sonia Talathi is a senior broadcast journalism and pre-med major who wants to use the media to help developing countries. The Honors student and former CURO Apprentice has conducted research in Uganda and wants to set up a news network in Africa to deliver timely and accurate health information. Sana Hashmi
Undergraduate Sana Hashmi is a triple major who plans to continue doing research after she graduates. She wants to become a medical doctor, academic researcher, wife and mother. She is a Foundation Fellow and CURO apprentice and CURO Young Summer Fellow. Working with a graduate student, Hashmi’s team become the first in the world to identify and locate important structures on a protein called alpha-dystroglycan. Hadas Peles
Hadas Peles is a history and political science double major from Bothell, Wa. Hadas is currently participating in the inaugural semester of the Washington Semester Program, interning in the office of Congressman Hank Johnson. She was a 2007 orientation leader and has been involved with Dawgs for Israel, a pro-Israel advocacy group on campus. She also is the vice president of women for the Dean William Tate Honor Society. Adele Handy
Senior Adele Handy has big plans for the future. She is a Foundation Fellow and CURO 2006 Summer Fellow working with professor Greg Robinson to do research in organometallic chemistry. She will graduate this spring with a dual major in psychology and biology. After graduation, she hopes to become a pediatrician and medical researcher.
Nekeisha Randall
Nekeisha Lynne Randall likes that UGA has given her the opportunity to become more well-rounded, to enhance her leadership characteristics and to find her niche on campus. She is a collegiate 4-H participant and the only Georgia 4-H youth ever selected to serve on the National 4-H Council Board of Trustees.
