Sigma Knitting Industries was incorporated in 1994. Sigma began operations in early 1995 with the production of sweaters, cardigans and pullovers for the school market made from 100% acrylic yarn, and casual sleeveless sweaters for the promotional market.

Currently we have knitting facilities with a capacity of 250 pieces from three, 8-hour shifts.

We have expanded our output to polo shirts, t-shirts, and caps for the promotional market, and recently acquired point to point linking machines to give a quality finish to the neck and button tapes.

We can also accomodate customers' specific requirements and are open to discussions on buy back contracts.

Company Profile

Automated logo sewing machine
Currently we have knitting facilities with a capacity of 250 pieces from three, 8-hour shifts. Guages range from 5- to 10-guage in flat knitting with the majority being 10-guage. Recently we modernized and increased our knitting capacity by installing fully computerized machines along with a computer designing system (eight 7-guage Universal machines and one 5-guage).

We import and use 2/24DMM and 2/28DMM count twisted, dyed, spliced and waxed yarn of the highest standard specification. This was done even before incorporation and as such we have 15 years' expertise in this field.

Anant Parmar, Managing Director, illustrates sleeve making for sweaters. Sigma Knitting produces sweaters, embroidered school uniforms, and shirts.
In 1997 we expanded to produce components of uniforms such as shirts, trousers, blouses, skirts, overalls, dustcoats, aprons and kaunda shirts. This move appealed to several types of customers, including schools, institutions, factories, and hotels. For more than 50 years we have imported our own fabrics to suit the needs of our customers.

We installed a state of the art, brand new computerized embroidering machine in 1998. It is a 12-head drop table version with 9-color automatic top and bottom thread cutting and cap embroidery attachments. We also have a top of the line digitizing system to produce virtually any type of design from the simple to the complex. Additionally, we have over 3,000 designs in stock.

For special orders we can knit and finish 100% cotton pullovers, cardigans, jumpers, etc.
