In May 2008, the Office of International Public Service and Outreach hosted Mr. Benon Kalema, newly-appointed head of the Planning Office at Nkumba University, for a one-month self-study program on the topics of "Strategic Planning in Higher Education." Read more and view photo essay.

M&E Training for Armenian and Georgian Representatives
The Office of International Public Service and Outreach cohosted a two-week training program in January 2007 on project monitoring and evaluation for ten representatives of the State Agrarian University of Armenia, non-governmental organizations, Ministry of Agriculture, and foreign donor agencies from Armenia and Georgia at the University of Georgia. Hosted by the Office of International Public Service and Outreach, Fariz Ahmadov (left) is seen here with a photo he created and presented to Dr. Glenn Ames, Director, Office of International Public Service and Outreach. Fariz Ahmadov was presented the 2006 UGA Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award, the Claudia Depalma Davis Outstanding M.S. Student Award and the Outstanding M.S. Paper Award in Agricultural and Applied Economics, for his paper titled "Perception of Decoupled Government Payments: Evidence from a National Survery."

Association of Agricultural Economists Visit
Dr. Wilson Nguyo and Peloshweu Moepeng visited UGA in conjuntion with American Association of Agricultural Economists Convention in Long Beach California, July 26-28, 2002.

IPSO Visitor from Brazil
On March 27 and 28, 2002, the Office of International Public Service and Outreach, in conjunction with the Office of International Activities in the College of Education, hosted Dr. Thereza Barreto dos Santos, General Director, Colegio de Aplicacao, Federal University of Pernambuco, Recife, Brazil. Dr. dos Santos was visiting Georgia under the sponsorship of the Partners of the Americas. Her training and specialty is teaching physical education. While in Athens, Dr. dos Santos visited with Dr. Art Dunning, Vice President for Public Service and Outreach, various UGA faculty and staff, and local schools and the RESA in Winterville, Georgia.

Cuban National Center for Agricultural Health Regulations
Caroline Hofland, President of CBH International in Suwanne, Georgia and UGA grad, met with Dr. Glenn Ames, Jennifer Frum, and visitors from the Cuban National Center for Agricultural Health Regulations, Maria Teresa Frias Lepoureau and Maricela Diaz Rodriguez, on March 29, 2002.

The Georgia Chapter of Partners of the Americas met in Athens on April 20, 2002.

Dominican Republic Ambassador Saladin Speaks
His Excellency Roberto Saladin, Ambassador to the U.S. from the Dominican Republic, visited UGA on April 22, 2002. His visit was sponsored by IPSO, the College of Family and Consumer Sciences, and the Office of the Vice President for Government Relations. Ambassador Saladin presented a lecture entitled "Dominican Republic-United States Relations in the Political, Economic, and Social Context of the 21st Century."
