The Indian Student Association was awarded the New Student Support Award for the year 2007-2008 in recognition of its efforts go above and beyond to help the new students adjust to the United States and UGA campus life.

• Apart from these, our fellow members recently won the following awards:
  
  Prashant Patil was awarded and recognized as one of the TOP 20 OUTSTANDING LEADERS by the Student Government Association (SGA).  

• Pandora Outstanding Senior Leader Award  : Shiwali Daryapurkar (she was one of the 15 students chosen by UGA from 7,000 students of Class of 2008 to receive this honor)
  
  Outstanding Collegiate Leadership Award from the Department of Intercultural Affairs: Shiwali Daryapurkar
  
  Shiwali Daryapurkar was also recognized at the S.O.A.R [Student Organization Achievement and Recognition Awards Program] Awards

• Renuka Dandapani was awarded the Outstanding Tax Volunteer Award at the ISL Recognition Banquet.

• Sanjeev Kumar was awarded the Outstanding Graduate Student Award at the ISL Recognition Banquet.

• Asha For Education  Athens was awarded the  Educational Advancement Award at the ISL Recognition Banquet.
