Fall Fling

Fall Fling is a fun-filled event to welcome the new students to the Indian students’ community. It was held at Lake Herrick and there was tasty Indian food provided by the Athens Indian community. It is a great way to foster a wonderful bond between the new students and the Indians in and around Athens

Garaba Puja

Garba is a dance form that originated in Gujarat and is done to please Goddess Durga. The event was organized by the Athens Indian community and was accompanied by delicious Indian food.

Diwali Night

The community  and students get together to celebrate the festival of lights. This is a time to wear your best indian clothes, eat delicious Indian food, play games, and cultural programs follow the Puja to Goddess Lakshmi

Holi:

The Indians students armed with gulal hunt down other Indians across the campus to smear the colors. The Fun-filled event traditionally ends when the ground has turned deep pink at Jamestown apartments.

Indian (iSL)Coffee hour:

ISA sponsors the weekly International Coffee Hour during the last week of Independence Day month. During the coffee hour, we participate in informal interaction with the other international students over Indian snacks.

India Nite:

The most awaited event of the year is the India Night where we showcase the Indian culture and tradition with awesome food, awesome songs, awesome dances, skits and speech from the outgoing ISA president. An after party follows the not-to-be-missed event.
