Women's Center Proposal
The 2007 Women's Studies Capstone students have spent the semester conducting the groundwork for a proposal to establish a much needed women's center at the University of Georgia. Their presentation will consist of their ideas regarding the rationale for a women's center, information on centers at other universities, a vision of what services and resources a center would offer, as well as its short term and long term goals. The students hope that the audience members will contribute their own ideas to this exciting venture.

Women's Studies Herstory
The Women's Studies Herstory group will present a history of the Women's Studies program at UGA informed by the program founders' personal narratives. The presentation covers the initial formation of the Women's Studies certificate in the late 1970s and then the revamping and creation of the program in the late 1980s. Through presenting this history, they hope to provide an institutional history for the program that also reveals the barriers and factors that influence the Institute today. |
