genDIR, a new initiative
developed by the Institute for Women's Studies, is is a directory of gender-related
scholarship and research at the University of Georgia.

What does "gender " refer
to in your new directory of gender researchers (genDIR) at
UGA?
Typical general topics in gender research include: women, men,
social power, social inequities, social class, race, cultural diversity,
sexual orientation, and other diversities.

What awards or accolades are Women's
Studies faculty and affiliate receiving?
Core and affiliate Women's Studies faculty who have received research
awards are highlighted in the faculty resources section
of our website, while faculty receiving teaching accolades are
showcased in our directory section.

How can I leave/join the Women's
Studies listserv?
Send an email to wspinfo@uga.edu and request to be added or removed.

Who is involved in Women's Studies?
Women and men from most colleges on campus participate in our activities.

How do I become involved in the
activities of the Institute for Women's Studies?
You can:
- take Women's Studies courses;
- become a Women's Studies major,
double major, minor or certificate
student;
- become and affiliate or associate faculty
member;
- join the Women's Studies Student Organization (WSSO);
- present research at our Student
Symposium or Friday
Speaker Series;
- attend our numerous talks and other events;
or
- volunteer to serve on a committee.

If I wish to send a contribution
to the Institute for Women's Studies, what sorts of activities
would I be supporting?
Contributions can support events intended to build connections
among gender researchers across campus, student and faculty interdisciplinary
research, student travel to conferences, and special initiatives.
