Service Learning
Service-learning, also referred to as "academically based community service," is participatory learning through organized service experiences that addresses community needs by way of a collaborative process between the school and community. Service-learning as a form of experiential education, is in accord with problem based and case-study pedagogical approaches where "action oriented" learning is a way to reconnect the academy in general and students in particular with the community.

Diversity

Office of Institutional Diversity
The mission of the Office of Institutional Diversity is to lead a focused institutional effort to evaluate existing programs and develop new initiatives to support diversity and equity at the University of Georgia.

College of Education- Multicultural Education Site
The purpose of this site is to make information more widely available to the college community about the college's multicultural education initiative. The site is organized around the functions and services of the Multicultural Education Task Force (MCTF). The Task Force is comprised of faculty, staff, and student representatives of the college's academic departments.

Disability Services

Institute on Human Development and Disability
IHDD works with others to create opportunities that will improve the quality of life for people with disabilities and their families. IHDD advances the understanding of the abilities of all people through education, research, and public service.

Disability Resource Center
The Disability Resource Center provides academic and support services to qualified students with disabilities to ensure equal access to all programs and activities at the University of Georgia. The mission of the Disability Resource Center is to create an accessible academic, social and physical environment for students with disabilities at UGA. We also seek to foster a positive attitudinal and behavioral response from faculty and staff when interacting with people with disabilities. To accomplish these goals, the staff provides direct services to students and routinely consults with the University community regarding disability access issues.
