Judicial Program's - Dean's Certification

Some professional schools (law, medicine, pharmacy, etc), graduate schools, undergraduate schools for transferring students,  and/or other academic programs such as study abroad require applicants to submit a Dean's Certification form that provides information that verifies a student’s judicial record (or lack thereof) and/or academic record at the University of Georgia.  At the University of Georgia, there are three offices involved in the certification process.  The Office of Judicial Programs reports the conduct/judicial record of the student, the Office of the Vice President for Instruction reports any violations of the University’s Honor Code (academic dishonesty), and the Office of the Registrar reports the academic record and standing of the student.

If an institution requires a Dean’s Certification, please pay particular attention to the information below:

Bring, fax, or mail the Dean Certification portion of your application to the Office of Judicial Programs in 130 Memorial Hall Athens, GA 30602. This is where the process begins. Once the form has been completed by the Office of Judicial Programs and the Office of the Vice President for Instruction, it will be sent to the Office of the Registrar for final processing and mailing. The entire process usually takes between seven to ten business days.

This process may take longer if a student has a prior record with any of the aforementioned offices.

A student may opt to have the completed Dean’s Certification sent to the institution requesting the form or back to him/her.  If the student wants the form sent to his/her address, s/he must show proper identification when submitted the form to the Office of Judicial Programs. If the form is faxed or mailed to the Office of Judicial Programs, the student will need to provide a notarized request to verify identity.
Feel free to contact any of the offices involved with your Dean’s Certification:
