Kamchatka

If you know some good web sites, please forward them to me and I will incorporate them here:

Unfortunately, I do not have the time to make this an interesting page, but since most of you are anyway Kamchatka veterans, I think this is acceptable.

1)  there is a short but nice article in the August 2001 issue of National Geographic "Frozen Inferno, Russia's Kamchatka"

2)  One from the Smithsonian NMNH web site which I thought was very interesting:
http://www.volcano.si.edu/gvp/volcano/region10/kamchat/avachins/var.html
===> apparently this side is not anylonger available  I looked at it just before I had posted it.

3) Tamas send in  this general one:
http://www.travelkamchatka.com/index.html.

4) Here is another side on volvanic activities in Kamchatka;  I hope this site  will stay accessible for  a while: http://www.volcano.si.edu/gvp/gvn/world/gvn00033.htm .
A general site on volcanism in the world is:  http://www.volcano.si.edu/gvp/index.htm .and youcan go from there to Kamchatka.
