Airport: Bozeman (Montana)
For most participants the best airport to approach Yellowstone National
Park is Bozeman (Monatana) which can be reached through connections via
Salt Lake City at least for all international and East Coast flights. I
will organize transportation from Bozeman (airport) to Old Faithful on
Thursday and on Sunday back from the Park to Bozeman (airport). (see program
for latest details)
If you have to leave earlier or need to
come later, PLEASE take care of your transportation to the Park yourself
by renting a car at the airport.
If your airplane arrives late due to
delays and the group with the van has already left, please, rent a car
and drive to Yellowstone. You should be able to get a weekend rate
after Thursday 2:00PM. It's about a 2.5 h drive from the airport
to Old Faithful Inn since in the Park you only can drive maximally 30 mph.
From Bozeman to the Park entrance is about 90 miles

ENTRANCE Fee: when you enter the Park
you have to pay the National Park entrance fee. You pay for the car regardless
of how many people are in the car. Rember you enter as a private person.
You will receive a map and information for the park.

The road from Madison Junction
up North to Norris is closed at this time for repair. This
would be the shortest drive from and to Bozeman via Livingston at
the Interstate 90 to Mammoth North entrance (via the city of Gardinertoto
Bozeman. Thus it is best to enter the park via the West entrance coming
from West Yellowstone. You reach West Yellowstone on the 85 / 191 coming
from Belgrade (West from Bozeman on the Interstate 90). So you do
not go through Bozeman coming from the airport and take a right when hitting
the Frontage Road (see map Direction
to Motel). This route
takes about 2 h and 45 minutes or more at less than optimal driving conditions.

Bozeman to Old Faithful and return
Planned Departure for US participantsfrom Bozeman via a minivan is presently
2:00 PM. We need to leave latest 2:05 PM to be able to start at 5:00 PM
with the workshop (Dinner).
I definitely need to know who will use this mode of transportation,
or whether you will be going on your own.

I need to have your travel charged directly to the workshop account
(instead of going through cumbersome reimbursement procedures after the
workshop).
